Tomorrow is the day! I must admit that I've been experiencing a mix of emotions to say the least! I'm a little nervous, a little excited, and a whole lot of "I just want to be done!" How's that for being a whole lot of mixed up? Honestly, this has kept me in close contact with Jesus this week. I'm clinging to this promise from His Word . . . Psalm 18:2, "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." I don't know about you, but another thing that brings me much comfort and peace is music. I've been singing and humming this chorus from the song Strong Tower by Kutless all week. It's one I learned a number of years ago (many years actually, but nevermind how many) as a worship leader. If you're not familiar with it, I recommend a google search . . .
"You are my strong tower
A shelter over me
Beautiful and mighty
You are my strong tower
Fortress when I'm weak
Your name is true and holy
And Your face is all I see"
This week I've taken liberty and changed the last line to . . . "And Your face is all I seek".
Knowing that God's got this has given me the courage and strength I need to face this storm of life. Apart from Him, I don't have that strength within me. When I am weak, He is strong . . . that's another promise I'm hanging on to. Tomorrow will be okay, no matter the outcome. Some people tend to believe that God won't give us more than we can handle . . . I am of the belief that He allows just enough so that we will turn to Him . . . which will only happen when I think I cannot handle the storm in my own strength . Even though I will follow all of the pre-op instructions, there is little I can do to control the outcome of my surgery tomorrow. I will continue to put my life in His hands, knowing that He loves me and has a plan for my future and . . . He sees the big picture!
Thank you all for being on this journey with me! I have been so encouraged by the outpouring of love through messages, emails, notes, cards, gifts, meals, and especially the promises to pray for me as I walk this path. I feel His love through each of you! Please keep the prayers coming! Thank you for being His hands and feet to me! I love you!
A friend from church (who happens to be fighting her own health battle with much courage and strength) recently shared this song on her Facebook page. I just have to share it with you! It describes where I have landed in prep for tomorrow. . . "Thy Will Be Done". He is God, I am not!

As always, being able to hold my creative classes continues to be a source of joy and encouragement for me! It's been such good medicine to see my stamping friends each month! I'm so grateful that I've been able to hold them each month! I also love that they give me a reason to keep creating . . . and that I have something fun to share with you, my readers!
Here's one of the projects we made this month! I love having fun ways to package treats or small gifts! This packaging idea was floating around Facebook and I shared the video on my Stampin' with Georgia Facebook page earlier this month. Here's the one I designed for class after watching the video. I used the Petals & Paisleys Specialty Paper, the Paisleys & Posies Bundle (stamps & framelits) and the coordinating 3/8" Ribbon Trio to tie it up! Of course, there's a yummy Ghirardelli chocolate inside!
Dimensions & Directions:
- Two-sided printed paper of your choice (I used Petals & Paisleys Specialty Paper) . . . 6 x 6 square
- Ribbon . . . 18"
- Optional: Make a template out of tag board that measures 2-3/8" x 2-7/8". I used the template to make it easier to know where to fold in the sides.
- HINT: I waited to fold the final flap down until after I had placed my candy inside.
- My embellishment was created using a coordinating stamp and framelit from the Paisleys & Posies Bundle.
Follow the quick and easy directions in this video to make your adorable envelope treat holder! (Sorry I couldn't embed it as it's one made for Facebook!)
Just think of the all the possibilities with this idea! You can use this for any holiday or occasion and you can make them of any size! You're only limited to a 12 x 12 piece of paper!
