Add A Little Lemon Lime Twist To Your Lemon Zest!

 

I've had so much fun with the Lemon Zest Bundle!  Today I've paired it with the Layering Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  You'll definitely want to check out the fun and easy technique I used to achieve the two-tone look on the lemons!  (If you don't own sponge daubers yet, you'll want to add those to your wish list!)

 

 

 

Dimensions & Directions:

• Whisper White cardstock . . . 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", folded in half for card base
  • WW cardstock for card front . . . 4" x 5-1/4"
• Basic Black cardstock for matting. . . 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
  • Adhere WW card front to Basic Black mat
• Lemon Lime Twist cardstock . . . 2" x 5-1/4"
  • Emboss with the Big Shot and Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder 
  • Adhere to left side of  WW card front approx. 1/2" from edge
• Two Tone Stamping for your lemon slice and lemon (See video below):
  • First ink your clean stamp with Daffodil Delight Ink
  • Use a sponge dauber to add Lemon Lime Twist Ink around the edges of your already inked stamp
  • Stamp on Whisper White scrap

 

 

• Punch lemon slice out with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch
• Punch out lemon with Lemon Builder Punch

• Stamp sentiment in center of lemon slice with Memento Black Ink
  • Adhere to card front
• Stamp one of each leaf on Whisper White scrap with Lemon Lime Twist Ink
  • Punch out with Lemon Builder Punch
• Adhere lemon to card front with Dimensionals
• Adhere leaves to card front with Dimensionals
• Tie small bow with Black Baker's Twine
  • Attach to lemon with small dot of Liquid Glue

Quick and Easy Lemon Zest Note Cards

 

Sharing from the lake today!  (That's the beauty of working for myself!  I can work from anywhere!)  If I were to be completely honest with you, I didn't even like the Lemon Zest bundle when I first saw it, but after playing with it I've totally changed my mind about it!  It's so easy to use and there countless ideas for it . . . and it's makes adorable projects!

 

My inspiration for this card came from one pictured in my Stampin' Success magazine.  Stampin' Success is another one of the perks of being a demonstrator.  We have our own inspirational publication sent to us every quarter.  Each issue features project ideas that can be either copied or demonstrated or both.  (Along with many other wonderful articles relevant to us as demonstrators.)

Directions:

Make Your Projects Stretch For You!

 

The card I'm sharing with you today comes to you after taking a second look at the decor project I posted yesterday and thinking to myself . . . "I like this so much; what else could I make from this?"  It's pretty easy to take a large project and turn it into a smaller one!  I decided to use the idea to make a card . . . you could easily do one in each of the new in colors in the paper stack!

 

 

 

Dimensions & Directions:

• Fresh Fig cardstock . . . 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2" and folded for card base
• Whisper White cardstock . . . 4" x 5-1/2" (cut two . . . one for card front and one for insert)
• Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack . . . 3" x 4" (if pattern in paper is directional, make sure that it's going the right direction)
  • Adhere along bottom of one of the Whisper White pieces
• Fresh Fig Ribbon . . . 5" piece
  • Lay over top edge of Fresh Florals Designer Paper and attach ends to back of Whisper White
• Adhere Whisper White layer to Fresh Fig card base for front, adhere second Whisper White inside card
• Whisper White cardstock for stamping . . . 2-3/4" x 3"
  • Stamp background with Fresh Fig Ink (I used the splatter and flower from the Touch of Texture stamp set)
    • To achieve the lighter shade of ink, stamp off on scratch paper once before stamping on your project
  • Stamp sentiment in lower left corner with Fresh Fig Ink
• Fresh Fig cardstock for mat . . . 2-7/8" x 3-1/8" (if you want the mat slightly larger, cut just a hair larger than the measurement)
  • Before adhering, use the Big Shot to cut the large and tiny butterflies from the Move Me Thinlits (both pieces of the large butterfly at once) from the center of your mat
  • Adhere only the body of the butterfly to your stamped piece (Optional:  stitch the body with your sewing machine)
  • Adhere stamped piece to your mat
• Adhere matted piece to card front with Dimensionals
• Adhere tiny butterfly to corner of card insert

How easy was that?  I want to draw your attention to the greeting set that I used . . . Tabs For Everything.  I'm finding the wide array of sentiments and fonts really fun and useful!  I love how tiny they are and how easily they can blend in to any project!  Go ahead and add this one to your wish list . . . and remember it's part of a bundle with the Circle Tab Punch.
